Hey guys, I hope you are all well. Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, I have been busy with school.
Last month, I was asked to make some cupcakes for a baby shower. It was the first time I was asked to bake some cakes for a baby shower so I was really excited.
Jade’s son was born at a whopping 10 llb – well done Jade! Congratulations to her and her family, including proud Nan Elly!.
I made vanilla cupcakes, and some of the cupcakes contained jam inside of them.
It was great fun to take part in a bake sale at my school to raise money for the Air Ambulance.
I used the cake and cookie recipes on the recipe page. On top of the cupcakes I put a small cookie in the shape of a bunny head.
It was a worthy cause and I was glad to take part.
I really want you to have a go at baking and send in your pictures, I will put it on the website.
Follow my recipes, they are really easy and really work!
Can’t wait to hear from you guys
Recently I met Fiona Cairns the Royal Cake Maker who made the wedding cake for William and Kate.
She was soooooo sweet and kind to me!
The story was fascinating. She had the call from Clarence House. She then went down the next week on the train, she was so nervous that when they arrived she walked straight past Prince William on the way in!!
The organiser for the wedding gave her a bit of lace that was wanted on the cake that was matching Kate’s dress. Only 7 people in her factory new about the cake. It was very exciting she said.
The day before the wedding she was assembling the cake at Buckingham Palace and then this man said the queen was coming to visit her. Her hands were all sticky and the nearest toilet was 10 mins away so she ended up washing her hands in flower water from the florists. Lucky she did because the queen came and shook her hand!
It was lovely to meet her and it was a great night!
Just to prove even kids can bake!! I didn’t make the butterfly biscuits on the Baking Tips page – they are by Peggy Porschen.. go on you can do it too!

My name is Shivani and I like to bake! I hope you can get excited about baking by reading about my baking exploits. You don’t have to be an adult to make yummy cakes. I’ve been very lucky to go on a few courses and learn recipes from my family. Fortunately for me, my brother Sejan is always on hand to eat all the spare cakes I make.
I’ve been exploring baking, and now I’m exploring the web, and this is the second evolution of wikibake, so I can upload different recipes and thoughts on baking. I installed WordPress today and have learnt to use templates.
Once the site is in full swing, I will add some feature to allow you all to add your favourite recipes as well.
Happy baking, and hope you can all join me soon on Wikibake!
Thanks for stopping by!
